Jessica Hernandez and The Deltas Giveaway
More than just a rock and roll band, Motor City natives Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas display striking vocals and hard work ethic in the band’s lyrics and performances. It’s hard to compress the sound embodied by the group into any one genre. Their high-energy, electric (and occasionally dark) tunes can be heard live Sunday, June 1 at Club Cafe, with Falling Andes and Heaf as opening acts.
Lead vocalist Jessica Hernandez is the American-born daughter of a Mexican mother and Cuban father. Hernandez grew up loving design, culture, and music while working hard at the family restaurant. After a brief time at college, Hernandez decided to return home and pursue music. She kept busy turning her family’s loft into a performance space. Her hard work and song writing payed off; before too long, she landed a gig and decided to form The Deltas after previously working as a solo artist. The Deltas include Michael Krygier, Steven Lehane, Taylor Pierson, John Raleeh and Stephen Stetson. The band recorded their latest EP, Demons, in El Paso, Texas, which is available on iTunes alongside the rest of their work.
Falling Andes is a three member indie pop-rock band formed in Pittsburgh. Their first single “San Francisco” hit the streets in Spring 2011. They recorded their first album, Frantic, at Tree Lady Studios, and released Castlevania in 2014. Heaf is an Ohio-based indie/ambient band comprised of five unique members. Heaf, (rhymes with leaf), stands for Head East And Forgive. The band formed in 2012, originating with band members Dan Tysz and LuReis Smith. This unsigned band deserves a watchful eye.
