The War on Drugs Giveaway
The War on Drugs is making it’s way to Pittsburgh on March 22nd to debut their new album Lost in the Dream, which drops March 18th. The album took two+ years to write and record. While the band is kicking off the tour in their hometown of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh is the fourth stop on the list, which means we get to hear the band’s new songs live before most of the country and the world.
The War on Drugs was started in Philly after front man Adam Granduciel met former guitarist Kurt Vile. The two hit it off and created the band’s first EP, Barrel of Batteries and first album, Wagonwheel Blues. Vile left to focus on his solo career and since, the band has cycled through several members. For the Lost in the Dream debut, Granduciel will take the stage with Dave Hartley on bass, Robbie Bennett on keyboard, and Patrick Berkery on drums. The indie rock quartet will be playing their new hit track “Red Eyes,” which features Granduciel’s smooth vocals along with a consistent soothing guitar rhythm. With both classical piano chords and synthesized keyboard sounds, this song breaks down the barriers of typical alternative rock and hints at a promising new album for the group.
