Zombie Dinner at Churchview Farm
It’s October, and you’re in Pittsburgh, so you can’t escape the zombies! Pittsburgh has a long history with zombie mania, from our Night of the Living Dead connection, to our record breaking zombie walk, we can’t get enough of the undead. If you’re seeking a one of a kind zombie experience this Halloween season, we have just the thing for you. Churchview Farms, a third generation sustainable farmette, is hosting a Zombie Dinner on October 25th at 6:30pm. That’s right, a seven course feast prepared by Kate Romane of e2 and Keith Fuller of Root 174 in their new ‘zombie-proof’ barn. Mmmmmmm…brains!
This event has limited seating available, and Churchview Farms’ dinners are known to sell out quickly, so we encourage you to get your tickets right away! If you don’t you will risk missing this one of a kind experience. In addition to the feast, East End Brewing will provide local brews and there will be a screening of Night of the Living Dead to watch from around the bonfire. You’re also welcome to roam the farm, but beware, you may happen upon a free range zombie and be attacked! In fact, they will be offering a prize for the last person standing, $50 gift certificates to e2 and Root 174 and a ticket to one of next year’s farm dinners. To increase your odd of blending in with the brain munchers, Make-up artist Brittney Leshen of Pageboy will be on-site zombifying guests for a nominal fee.Trundle Manor will also be on site with their collection of ‘creep show oddities’ to explore.
Tickets are $125 and include the seven course feast and beverages. The suggested attire is to dress for the zombie apocalypse…duh. And sorry veggie friends, there will be no vegetarian options.
