There are a few things going on in the Pgh to take note of.
First off, there’s a new bar opening today in my favorite Pgh neighborhood, Lawrenceville. It’s called Alchemy N’Ale and it looks pretty neat. I think Lawrenceville needs some more bar options. As someone who frequents that scene, I think you can never have enough bars to choose from. Less chances to run in to people you don’t want to see in that L-ville bubble.
On another booze-related note, word is quickly spreading that PA has finally started to remove some of the stick from their ass and loosened up a bit on their antiquated liquor laws. I actually had no idea that happy hours were restricted, until I read this. Good to know someone’s looking out for us lushes.
If you don’t have anything to do tonight, we recommend checking out Kastle at the casino’s Drum Bar. Little did I know this cat is from Pgh, and I’ve been enjoying his bass-heavy party jams on the reg for some time now. Read all about him over at the CP.
Last but not least, we’d like to plug the Baller BBQ that’s happening this Saturday in Shadyside. I didn’t know much about this event before, but watching this video helped:
This event benefits pancreatic cancer research. As someone who has been directly affected by this horrible disease, I urge you all to attend and donate as much as you can. They’re requiring a $20 fee to attend, but if you can cough up some extra, go for it. This is a horrible and quick way to see someone pass. Survival rates are very, very slim – and anyone who has survived it is pretty much amazing in my book.
Stay tuned for our 2nd PEMF installment tomorrow.
