Located in Shadyside on Copeland Street, just a stone’s throw from all the action of Walnut, Eden is a hyper-local restaurant focused on clean, healthy eating. Their ingredients are sourced “as locally as possible and organically when available”, which makes for one of the most nutritional options for eats in the Shadyside area, possibly even the city as a whole. This BYOB restaurant specializes in offering raw, vegan entrees, in addition to local produce and chicken and Sunday brunch. As populations become more health-conscious and the tide shifts from fast and cheap to spending a bit more in order to make their well being a priority, locally-sourced restaurants are all the rage right now. Not only are these establishments good for those who give them business, they’re good for the community as well – pumping money into local farms and cooperatives instead of having their inventories shipped in at a cheaper price. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Eden, consider attending their Vegan Christmas Art Party this Thursday at 5PM.
In addition to this being a holiday celebration, Eden is also closing a two-month showing of works by Brian Gonnella, a fella we’re very familiar with here at NakYouOut, as someone on our team owns one of his pieces. He’s been an artist on our radar for some time now, so we urge you to check out some of his art. They make great holiday gifts!
The evening also features holiday-themed vegan food, an art auction, and holiday tunes provided by Little Big Man. This BYOB event runs from 5-10. Get out and try something new this Thursday at Eden!
