Chances are you’ve heard about the end of the Mayan calendar slated for December 21, 2012, and the presumed apocalyptic events many are predicting.  In fact the media has embraced this myth, including a reference in The Simpsons. Some local events this year have also jumped on the bandwagon, like Evaline’s Halloween Party with an End of Days theme, and the Last Chinatown Inn Halloween Party On Earth. Well, whether you find it all quite silly, or you’re building your bunker and stockpiling water, you may want to attend Mayan Descendent, Ac Tah‘s lecture on debunking the myths and clarifying what the event really means.  On November 18th through the 20th, Ac Tah will be returning to Pittsburgh for a public lecture on the 2012 Mayan Prophecies, as well as workshops and labyrinth building.

Ac Tah, which translates to “The Man Who Speaks”, has dedicated his life to touring the world and educating people about his Mayan ancestors. After attending his first lecture in Pittsburgh in 2011, we were relieved to learn the Mayans were not predicting the end of the world, but instead a shift in global consciousness.  What that means exactly falls into the realms of New Age philosophy, spiritual portals, and vibrational frequencies, but we’ll leave that to Ac Tah to explain during his lecture.

The lectures and Sacred Geometry Movement Workshops will take place at First United Methodist Church in Shadyside, one of the most open-minded churches we’re acquainted with.  Then on November 20th, Ac Tah will lead the building of a permanent Orion Labyrinth, followed by an activation ceremony, in the Southside Slopes at the Bandhi Schuam Park at 18th and Mission Street. It all begins with the movement workshop on November 18th at 8pm, with a second workshop on the 19th at 10am, followed by group healing services provided by the Owl Tribe, including reiki, massage, crystal activation, and more with Kellee Maize, Angela Morelli, Holly McIntosh, Jade, Bobbi Williams and Abby Samuels. Donations are greatly appreciated.

On the evening of the 19th at 7pm, Ac Tah will host his lecture, Flight of the Quetzal, given in Spanish, with live translation provided. A $5-$10 donation is requested to attend the lecture. A full schedule of events is available here. Whether you’re a skeptic, a mystic, or a doomsday prepper, you should take the time to check out this authentic explanation of the 2012 Prophecies for yourself.
