Downtown-based art gallery Future Tenant is hosting their biggest fundraiser yet this Friday – a 10th birthday celebration at Bakery Square. This event is being held in conjunction with CMU’s MFA students and their exhibition EXTRA FANCY! which builds upon the gallery’s existing partnerships with local schools and colleges. Future Tenant has provided a space downtown for guest curators, performance events, and hosts a performance residency series in an effort to provide a hands-on experience for this completely student-run organization, often referred to as an arts management training laboratory. The night brings together a celebration of past successes and forward-thinking programming while setting them up for future successes. You can expect nothing less than excellence from the curators, as Future Tenant is known for pushing boundaries and allowing artists to explore ideas they couldn’t execute elsewhere.

The night includes:
Free food sponsored by Quiet Storm, Giant Eagle, and others
An open bar featuring Clique Vodka and Wigle Whiskey
Non-alcoholic beverages sponsored by FUZE
An original (FUZE-inspired) artwork by local artist Darrell Kinsel, who you might remember from our interview with him a few weeks ago.
Live Music from Lungs Face Feet
The musical stylings of DJ SoulStrings & VJ nox
Balloon bending, air brush tattoos, and a bouncy castle thanks to Mike the Balloon Guy
A real princess…and we’re not sure exactly what that means but we’ll take it.
Art auctions
AND MORE of course!

The event will take place at Bakery Square on Friday March 30th, from 7:00-12:00.
Presale: $15 student / $25 general
At the door: $20 student / $30 general

We here at NYO are proud to be involved this year. For a full list of participating artists and sponsors, head on over to Future Tenant’s page. There was also a lovely write-up CMU did on the event.
