Designer Discard is a unique type of yard sale that brings together local artists, designers, and vendors to sell their second hand goods. This Sunday, Oct. 19, the CWP Warehouse will be packed with items for sale including original artwork, posters, housewares, decorative objects, and more. The Discard will go from 11am-3pm and it’s free and open to the public!
Different vendors include artists everyday balloons, disCARDS Cut(e) n’ Paste, Mid-Atlantic Mercantile, and featured Handmade Arcade artists. You can expect to browse through everything from baby onesies to vintage cards and dishwares, to old fashioned typewriters. PERRY AND CO. furniture will also be there along with FareFeathers Jewelry, Gold Dust Floral wedding planning, artist Andrew Twigg, and many more vendors that will bring their best inventory!
This is a great opportunity, not only to find the perfect gift, but also to visit with local artists, pick up some one-of-a-kind items for your kitchen, and chat with the designers about their work. Each artist brings a different aesthetic to their work, making the Discard a great place to find something that fits your style. In classic Pittsburgh fashion, there will be food including some of our favorite food trucks, Franktuary and the PGH Pierogi truck.
Designer Discard is part of FULLTIME, “a city wide / open source festival” including “a series of independently created events tied together only by the people who create them and the city they are created within”. The goal is to start out with a few small curated events and hope that the events will continue to grow in the future. FULLTIME is said to be made up of “the risk takers, the free thinkers, the do-ers. The ones who work FULL TIME. Here, in Pittsburgh.”
